Better Bankside is a Business Improvement District. Its job is to make Bankside a thriving place to work, live and visit. Eight Associates are members of the Better Bankside Corporate Responsibility Group, which aims to facilitate businesses' involvement with the local community by supporting education, employment and environmental initiatives. Better Bankside’s Community Star stamp of accreditation recognises the contribution made by businesses that are actively involved in community projects. Eight Associates has achieved the Community Star accreditation through their work with St. Mungo’s Broadway, a charity who provides support to homeless people and those at risk. Eight Associates have been working directly with people living in semi-independent accommodation in order to educate them on the behavioural aspects of energy efficiency, and on what they can expect when moving into fully independent accommodation.
Working in partnership with the Eden Project, the Planet Mark is awarded to organisations, property developments and products that are committed to the continuous improvement of their sustainability performance. It builds employee and stakeholder engagement and creates positive environmental and societal change. Eight Associates is proud to achieve the Planet Mark in recognition of our efforts to improve our sustainability performance in terms of energy use, carbon emissions reduction, water use and waste production. As part of the certification, Eight Associates are also supporting the Eden Project Education programme, helping educate children on sustainability.
